In order to work abroad, you will need to apply for a proper work visa. To help the process proceed as smoothly as possible, in addition to submitting the required paperwork, please also keep these below key points in mind.
・Passport Expiration Dates
While countries such as Thailand and India require at least six months of passport validity when traveling internationally, France, Italy, and other countries require your passport to have at least three months of validity left after your time of departure/visa expiry. Therefore, we recommend renewing your passport before applying for the visa. Additionally, America requires all passports issued within the past ten years, so please keep your old passport even after renewing it.
・Noncriminal Certificate
Canada, Spain, and many other countries will require a Noncriminal Certificate, so please prepare this in advance.
・Other Required Documentation
Cooking licenses, graduation certificates/diplomas, proof of residence, and verified medical records are also often required. Australia, Canada, England, and other English-speaking countries may also require International English Language Testing System (IELTS) scores or other measurements of your English-language speaking ability.
・Dependant Visas
Many countries will issue visas to your spouse and children/dependants. However, some countries limit the child’s age to 18 (a maximum of 23-years-old in certain countries), and may also require that they are not married. There are only a few countries that will allow you to issue a visa for your parents, as well.
・Timeframe for Visa Application
Applying for a visa in Thailand takes the least amount of time -- you can have your visa issued the following day from submitting all necessary paperwork, whereas England may take about three month. In certain countries where obtaining a visa is rather difficult, it can take upwards to a year to process from the moment you begin preparing documentation until the visa is successfully issued.
