   Uwajimaya is another market popular amongst Seattle's Japanese residents. It's one of the more successful Japanese markets in America, and while they certainly have food and produce, you can also find Japanese cosmetics and basic goods for daily living♪ You'll also be able to find ingredients such as nattō and tofu in the local supermarkets, so Seattle is seen as a city with an understanding and appreciation for Japanese cuisine. Also, like Japan, the water in Seattle is also "soft water," so it is perfect for cooking use. Unlike hard water, the soft water won't contain large amounts of magnesium, so the bitterness attributed to the fine flavors of black tea and coffee might be missed, but since it's the same as Japan, it should feel all the same♪

In addition to the aviation maker Boeing, Amazon, Microsoft, and Starbucks all have their main headquarters in Seattle! You can even enjoy visiting all of their offices on your time off! Also, you'll find a subset of Amazon's stores called "AmazonGO," where you can make purchases as small as one juice without having to pass through the register. It might make you feel like a thief, but we promise that's just how the store works!

Summers are cool, and the winters aren't too cold in Seattle. The rainy season in Seattle falls between fall and spring, and while it may even rain daily for a week, it's often so light that you don't even need an umbrella.
